Who's who at Team RubberBelly Racing

"If you ain't first, you're last. You know, you know what I'm talking about?"   Ricky Bobby 2006

       Jake Good          Driver

Jake grew up with 4wheeling on family vacations to Colorado. He has tried to wheel anything with wheels on it, basically starting with a lawn tractor many, many years ago. In 1993 his parents bought him his first car, a rusty 1976 Ford Bronco. After several years of restoration the Bronco was finally up to those challenges ahead in Colorado. After several more years of refinements the bronco would actually perform well off road and in the high altitude of Colorado. Still looking to build a better Bronco he found a basket case Bronco in 1997.  It has gone through many revisions but is still his current recreational rock crawler. The knowledge found in building these 2 vehicles over the years has provided a large base for all 4wheel drives. In order to keep his friends wheeling with him he has taken on many projects from customs axles, custom suspensions to total jeep makeovers.  Like most kids, cars and 4 wheeling is all he could think about, but for Jake this still holds true to this day.  Wanting to help give back to the 4wd community, Jake started an Early Bronco club in 1998. This led him to be invited to help start an off-road park located in Ft. Scott, KS and is one of the founding members of the Kansas Rocks Recreation Park.  He has served as the Vice President of that organization for several years and has also served as President of the Kansas City 4-Wheel Drive Association.  Jake was involved in Petersen's 4 Wheel & Offroad's Ultimate Adventure in 2005 where his bronco graced the cover of the magazine and DVD.

Scott Angell          Spotter

It all started for me at the age of 4 when I got a go kart, I soon moved to two wheels which lasted until high school when I got my first car ( a small block 72 Chevelle). The muscle car thing come from my dad who drove a 68 Chevelle when I was young which is the reason I own a 68 Chevelle today. Shortly after high school I somehow ended up with a 78 Chevy 4X4 and played in the local mud spots around Kansas City. In 1995 my wife and I honeymooned in Colorado in a 1993 Grand Cherokee loaded with our mountain bikes. We went to a local bike shop in Estes Park to get some trail maps, when we arrived at the trails we discovered that they were in fact "Jeep" trails. That trip changed our lives, that was it I had found it, the thing I had been searching for the entire time. That trip was the start of a 13 year journey that has lead me to some of the greatest wheeling spots this country has to offer and to friends like Jake, Jason, Jeremy, Adam, and the rest of the RBR crew.   Scott's current recreational rig is a 91 Jeep Cherokee which will be replaced by a 68 Jeep Commando which is sitting in the garage just waiting to be built.

Pit Crew

While Scott and Jake are awesome, the pit crew likes to believe they are an integral part of their success.  Here are a few key players that do a lot of work behind the scenes.

Jason Troxel

Jason grew up in a Kansas City, Missouri suburb. It was probably a little orange go-cart which offered excitement and set the hook for the bigger automotive toys. The “Hot Wheels”, “Stompers”, and monster trucks created by “Big Foot” growing up were all important ingredients for the interest & dedication to off-roading today. Although he had a 4x4 truck back in 1998, it wasn’t until 2002 when he bought his current trail vehicle in stock form, a 1994 Jeep Wrangler. It has gone through many upgrades and now sits a little taller and a little more capable off road.  Jason has served on the board of directors for Kansas Rocks Recreation Park, and has served as Vice President for the Kansas City 4-Wheel Drive Association.

Adam Ross (RBR Waterboy Extraordinaire)

Adam grew up in a Kansas City, Kansas, suburb. At a young age he became interested in cars and his passion for wheeling began when he turned 18 and purchased a 1994 Ford Bronco. Through work he met Jake Good and began to get more interested in the rockcrawling side of wheeling. With the assistance of Jake, Scott, Jason & Jeremy he has had the oportunity to wheel in such places as Disney, Hannibal, Manhattan, and KSRocks. Adam is currently building a 1984 Toyota 4Runner that he is working on and plans to wheel in the near future.
